Ah, the electrics probably are. Most 924 has 110k and mechanically, it’s a clock. Electrically... not so much.

911 G model? If so, with 190k km it isn’t even broken in.

“Most 924 has 110k”? I don’t get it. It’s a 911 btw.

Yep, 1987 Carrera 3.2. Going strong as ever, that 200k won’t be that much of a problem I think/hope.

Only issue I’ve ever had was it aftermarket alarm system. And a Crankshaft seal. Not bad for a car I’ve owned for over a decade now.

You are doing the right thing, appreciating classics need to be driven. Not left to gather dust in a garage.

Thanks, I could never let it just gathering dust. It doesn’t see much rain but I even try using it for my commutes. As the 2002 will do!

You are a great owner for your classics if you use them like that!
This explaines why your 911 looks so well used, though.(meant as a compliment)

Haha, you would know as you’re one of the few that actually saw it!
Almost bought me a Reliant Scimitar yesterday BTW...

No problem at all, from what I’ve read in magazines and forums over the years.

Those are cool. Was it a fast back/shooting break one?
I know of a guy who had like 3 or 4 at one point. All of them were in driving condition, and they were always on his driveway in a different order, so I think he drove them all.

At around 200k there should be a clutch renewed... And I definitely need new tires ;-)

The more I drive it (I’ve had it for over a decade now) the more I love it. There is a God.

Well, you would have to stock up on Lucas smoke(tm) before buying one, so I guess it’s not too bad you didn’t buy it.

That’s when you know you bought the right car.

It’s chassis was the biggest threat, if that’s shot you’d have to dismantle the body entirely. Not impossible per se (just weld the holes but the polyester must be far and away from that!) but certainly a job that would take me quite some weeks. And with current values around 6.5K: that would be a bad investment. There were no pictures from underneath so I had to go there physically to check but... So little time!

I think you made the right decision in that case. There is no point in buying and investing a lot in a car that will probably not appreciate in value in the next years.
